What is beer money?

Beer money is a slang term that is the extra money you can use to or pay for things like your regular lifestyle habits or unexpected bills. You can also think of beer money as pocket change on steroids. I know that sounds kind of silly but it’s a good way to look at it.

50 CRAZY SIDE HUSTLES TO MAKE A TON OF EXTRA MONEY

How to be successful at making beer money and avoid scams

If you want to maximize the amount of money you earn with beer money sites (and the fun you have completing the tasks), this section will help you immensely.

The following beer money hacks come on the heels of years of my own trial-and-error with beer money sites:

  • Cash out often and never hold balances for too long. Some beer money sites can change their rules on a whim or even lock you out for mysterious reasons.
  • If they have a threshold of higher than $50 dollars, forget about them. They are either a scam that will never pay you or it’ll take forever to accumulate enough to withdraw. Plus, there are plenty of legit beer money options that have low thresholds (like the ones you’ll find in this list). Do those instead.
  • As a general rule, if a beer money site’s design looks bad, or like it came straight out of the 2000’s, it’s best to stay away. That’s not to say modern beer money sites can’t be scams either, but it’s less likely.
  • Sign up for as many legit beer money options as you’d like but only stick with 5-10 of them.  You don’t want to spread yourself thin by doing too many, especially if you want to cash out fast.
  • If any of them require you to make a purchase in order for you to have access to your account or earnings, or provide highly sensitive information like a SSN, run far away.
  • Make sure they have a privacy statement and terms of use/service.  For websites, these are located on the footer (bottom of the page).  For apps, you can usually find them on their menu or dashboard. If they don’t have either, leave the website.
  • Fill out your profile information accurately and honestly. This is especially important for beer money surveys and GPT websites. If you don’t, you won’t get the best paying surveys and tasks. You will also be at risk of getting booted off.
  • Take advantage of Passive beer money apps. This way you will have more time to do more tasks.
  • Create a separate e-mail address just for beer money sites, for the inevitable spam e-mails.  In the same vein, I recommend using a burner phone app to get a phone number that you can use for any sites that require a phone number for signup.

Alright. With those tips and tricks out of the way, let’s get on to the beer money list!

Best survey sites to make beer money (All are 100% free to use with no credit card or purchase necessary)

If you’re looking to make quick beer money online, survey sites are a great way to accomplish that. Survey sites have been around since the 1990’s, but they’ve gotten a bad rap because 95% are flat out scams that never pay.

Don’t worry.

We’ve got you covered with only the best survey sites currently available. Keep in mind that demographics matter a lot when it comes to each individual survey site. So, it’s worth trying several of them and seeing which one gives you the highest-paying surveys.

SurveyJunkie (United States sometimes other countries)

SurveyJunkie is currently my favorite beer money survey site. Out of all the beer money surveys I’ve tried, they consistently pay the highest. I have seen surveys go for as high as $50 for only 2 hours of your time. That’s a rate of $25 per hour! Cashing out with PayPal is same-day most of the time. So, if you need money fast, SurveyJunkie is the main survey website I’d recommend.

Vindale Research

Vindale Research is one of the oldest and highest-paying survey sites. They also rival SurveyJunkie in terms of high-paying surveys. Besides surveys, you can also earn cash by opening e-mails, watching videos, or getting your friends to sign up.

Here’s a protip. Once you get paid, take a picture of your payment amount and send it to Vindale. They’ll give you an easy $5 just for doing that!

Toluna Influencers (Open to international citizens age 15 or older)

It’s also one of the few survey sites that not only accept those from the United States but other countries as well. So if you’ve been looking for a survey website that accepts those from all across the world, choose Toluna Influencers.

E-poll Surveys

E-poll Surveys is a new survey site that I’ve been on for several months. Here’s the cool thing about E-poll. Each month you can win $20 or more as long as you complete at least 1 survey per month. A friend of mine actually won their contest, which is how I heard about it in the first place.

Their surveys are all super easy and fast too. The only thing is that they can run dry on high-paying surveys. So, I recommend only doing 1-3 of their best surveys per month. That way you’ll be automatically entered into their sweepstakes while making the most money from E-poll.

Prolific

Prolific focuses on academic surveys and research studies.

Having said that, if you’re looking for high-paying survey sites, YouGov is probably not what you’re looking for. They tend to pay $2 at most for their surveys.

Sign up for YouGov here.

You must be 16 years or older to join the YouGov Panel.

Get Paid To aka GPT Beer Money Sites

What are GTP sites? GPT is an acronym that stands for Get Paid To. GPT sites are basically websites that pay you cash or rewards for doing simple online tasks. These simple online tasks can include, watching videos, playing games, searching the web, taking photos, filling out surveys, redeeming sign-up offers, and more.

There are countless GPT sites online, but not all of them are legit. However, the following GPT websites are all legit ways to make easy beer money whenever you need it. I’ve personally used all of the beer money sites below and have cashed out on all of them quickly.

Swagbucks (Available in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Australia and more) (Age minimum: 13 years or older)

Swagbucks, in my opinion, is the King of Beer Money.

They have a ton of ways to make quick cash, and they’ve been around for 11 years. When I needed emergency funds quick, Swagbucks was one of the main beer money websites I turned to. I made hundreds of dollars in a hurry by redeeming sign up offers, browsing the web with their search engine, and taking their best surveys.

They have countless ways to redeem your earnings fast and regularly have discounted prepaid Visa gift cards which stretched my earnings even further. I highly recommend checking them out. They’re still offering a nice $5 sign up bonus too.

Click here to sign up for Swagbucks and claim your $5 bonus

Gain.GG (Available Worldwide) (Age minimum: 13 years or older)

Gain.GG is an online community wherein you can make extra money doing pretty much anything. You can redeem your coins for real money. 100 coins are worth $0.10. Gain.GG also lets you withdraw in Bitcoin or Litecoin too which is pretty cool. Gain.GG lets you cash out instantly, and they have a threshold of only $01. If you love beer money or GPT sites in general, there’s no reason not to be on Gain.GG.

Sign up for Gain.GG here

InboxDollars (Available in the United States and United Kingdom) (Ages 18 and up)

InboxDollars is almost exactly like Swagbucks. The only real difference is that InboxDollars pays you in cash instead of digital currency that needs to be converted to cash.  But for all intents and purposes, it’s not a big deal.

Right now, they offer a $5 cash bonus just for completing sign up and confirming your e-mail address (takes 1 minute).

If you live in the United States, sign up here

If you live in the United Kingdom, they go by InboxPounds, and you can sign up here

Qmee (Available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia)(Ages 16 or older)

Qmee lets you do surveys, offer redemption, and paid for search. The main thing I like about Qmee is that their minimum payout is only one cent. So you can basically just sign up for an account, do a quick survey, and cash out on PayPal instantly.

And, if you sign up through my referral link, you will get $0.50 in your account for free. This is money you can withdraw to your PayPal in minutes, but you have to use my referral link or you won’t have it credited.

Click here to sign up for Qmee and start making money online today

Timebucks (Available Worldwide) (Ages 13 and up)

Timebucks is your typical GPT website with great support and a few interesting quirks.

Firstly, they have some unique ways to make beer money like growing a beard or taking photos of yourself every day.

What’s also unique about Timebucks referral program is that they pay on 5 levels. A real world example is this: You refer Bob (Level 1, and you get paid the equivalent of 15% of Bob’s earnings). Bob refers Maria (Level 2, and you get paid 2%). Maria refers Jake (Level 3, and you get paid 2%). Maria refers Joanna (Level 4, and you get 2%). Finally, Joanna refers Mark (Level 5, and you get 1%). Pretty cool, right? Also, Timebucks also gives you a $1 cash sign up bonus to sweeten things.

Click here to sign up for Timebucks

PrizeRebel (Available worldwide) (Ages 16 and up)

PrizeRebel is one of the oldest and most reliable GPT sites online. I’ve been impressed with their options for making money, low threshold ($2), and fast cashout with PayPal.

Click here to sign up for PrizeRebel

InstaGC (Available Worldwide) (Ages 13 and up)

InstaGC is one of the oldest and most reliable GPT sites. They have a small minimum payout of only $1, and you can withdraw your money with PayPal. They also have a bunch of cheap gift card options.

Click here to sign up for InstaGC

SlicethePie (Available in the United States, Germany and most English-speaking countries) (Ages requirement varies)

SlicethePie is a really cool and unique GPT website. You can get paid for reviewing new music, fashion, and commercials! SlicethePie a favorite time-killer of mine when I’m in the mood for new tunes. Their payment threshold is only $10 before you can cash out fast with PayPal.

Click here to sign up for SlicethePie

Other GPT sites

Amazon Mturk Amazon Mechanical Turk offers you the opportunity to make money from home doing simple tasks called Human Intelligence Tasks or HITs.

These tasks include surveys, audio transcription, translation, and YouTube video rating to name a few. You can expect to earn anywhere from $100 all the way to $2000 per month if you’re committed (and get a little lucky).

Mturk accepts international workers.

Remotasks is another GPT site that pays you to complete super easy tasks. These tasks are as easy as viewing pictures, categorizing items, and completing fun tests. Remotasks accepts workers from all over the globe.

Completely passive beer money options

Passive beer money apps and websites are those that require no effort on your part. Some require you to just leave their app running in the background. Others will pay you for doing everyday activities like walking. It’s the easiest passive income you’ll make.

Nielsen Panel App

The Nielsen Panel App will pay you $50 every year just for keeping its app on your computer or phone. You will also automatically be entered into a sweepstakes where they give away $10,000 every month to one user.

Wondering if this is legit? The Nielsen company has been studying market trends for 90 years and the American Marketing Association has ranked them #1 out of the top 50 market research firms. If that isn’t trustworthy, I don’t know what is.

To sweeten things further, they’re even offering a $5 cash bonus for signing up.

Just make sure you keep it installed for at least 30 days to claim it.

Click here to download the Nielson Panel app and start making passive beer money

Beer Money Apps that will save you money passively and fast

The following beer money apps will give you free money automatically.

Why do I say this?

I know it sounds a little too good to be true, but read on. I say this because once you take a few minutes and set them up, they require little to no effort on your part and earn you little bits of cash while you go about your day. Besides Qapital (which pays for itself anyway), none of them cost you a penny to use either. You will save money at a lightning speed.

The top 3 card-linking cash back beer money apps (All three are free and can be used together)

Dosh

One of my favorite ways to earn passive beer money is by using the Dosh app. Dosh automatically gives you up to 30% in cash back on purchases you make at stores and restaurants. It’s incredibly easy to download and set up.

Here’s how it works. Just download Dosh to your phone and link up the card(s) you use for your purchases to the app. That’s it! You don’t have to do anything else. The only time you’ll be opening the app is to withdraw your money to PayPal.

One more awesome thing, Dosh gives you $5 for free once you successfully link up your card. The entire process takes about two minutes at most. For your convenience, here’s the link to download Dosh to your phone.

Pei

Pei is an up-and-coming automatic cashback app that’s almost exactly like Dosh. You simply download the app to your phone, link your card, and you’re good to go!

One cool aspect of the Pei app is that you can withdraw in Bitcoin in addition to cash. The best part of all is that Pei stacks with other money-saving apps! What that means is you can use Pei at the same time as Dosh and Drop for example and earn even more cash back!

Update! Pei is now offering new members $5 just to download their app and link a card! This is incredibly generous and won’t last long.

Download Pei now while they’re still giving this generous $5 sign up bonus.

Drop

Drop is a passive loyalty rewards app that gives you free gift cards for your everyday shopping. There are about 30 stores that you can choose from, most of which aren’t on Pei or Dosh. A few of these stores include Whole Foods, Chipotle, and Walgreens.

Every time you spend money at one of the stores you get points which can be redeemed for gift cards of your choice. Points rack up surprisingly quick. I made $8.47 worth of points in my first month of using it. That’s beer money I’d have never seen otherwise, so I’ll take it! If you’re already ready to get free gift cards.

Click here to download the Drop app

Ibotta

Shop at grocery stores, malls, and electronic stores often? Or even a little?

There’s this new, free app called Ibotta that gives you cash back on your everyday purchases made in-store.

You can save money on groceries, clothing, electronics, college supplies, and items from just about any other category you can think of for your lifestyle.

All you have to do is scan your receipt into the app using your phone’s camera. It takes seconds, and it’s really easy!

Click here to download Ibotta to your phone, and receive a $10 bonus when you scan your first store receipt into the app

Rakuten

If you shop online without using a free cashback website like Rakuten, you are throwing your money away. With Rakuten, saving $100’s of dollars or even $1000s (if you’re a heavy shopper) over the course of several months is really easy. My savings from Rakuten have racked up to $683 dollars, and I’ve only been using it for 7 months.

To get started, all you do is sign up, browse your favorite stores through Rakuten’s online portal, and make purchases as you would normally.

Rakuten gives you up to 15% in cash back from more than 400 popular stores and brands such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, and eBay to name a few. Plus, they are giving new users $10 when they spend their first $25 at any of the brands or stores. What’s not to like?

Sign up for Rakuten here and get $10 off you spend $25 or more at any of the 400+ stores

Paribus

Paribus is a free price protection app that gives you refunds on price drops from your purchases. As an example, if you bought a pair of shoes for $99 and next month it drops down to $89, Paribus will collect that $10 difference and send it to you automatically. They do collect a small percentage of that difference, but you’re getting money you’d likely never know about!

It’s true. You could do this yourself, but it’s a fool’s errand. Think of the time you’d waste having to manually search for price drops on every single purchase (including things like groceries) and then taking the receipt back to the store to get a refund. Don’t do that. Paribus will do that all for you automatically.

There are a dozen other apps that can look for refunds. But personally, I’ve gotten the most money back with Paribus. Considering they’re partnered with more retailers than other price protection apps, it’s not surprising.

Other price protection apps and Paribus alternatives to consider

Earny.  I consider Earny a close runner up to Paribus. They are quite similar, and some people claim that they’ve gotten better cash back with Earny.  One perk about Earny, though, is that they have a convenient phone app whereas Paribus doesn’t. Download the Earny app here.

Sift. Sift is just like Paribus and Earny except they focus more on enforcing credit card benefits that you may have missed. Depending on your credit card, you could end up saving a decent chunk of change. Check out Siftwallet here.

Honey

Have you ever bought something online, arrived at checkout, and wished you had a promo code to save more money on your purchase?

I’ve been there more times than I’d like to remember. Thankfully, its no longer is a problem for me because of Honey (not the food, although it is tasty)!

What I mean by Honey is a free browser extension that automatically finds, tests, and apply coupon codes to your order at online checkout! You can end up saving a surprising amount over the long haul.

If you download Honey through my link, we will both get $5 that can be used towards a gift card of your choice from countless retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and Nike.

Trim

The free Trim app is a useful tool that cancels your unwanted subscriptions. As an added bonus, Trim’s artificial intelligence will negotiate your everyday bills such as car insurance, internet, cable, and more to a lower price! Conveniently, the app will send you a text message to confirm each money-saving action with you!

Trim is an easy and automatic way to earn some additional beer money every month. Just this month, Trim saved me $25.83. It’s not a whole lot, but with my other sources of beer money, it adds up. And since it’s free, there’s really no reason not to have it working for you.

Qapital

Using the latest artificial intelligence, Qapital analyzes your spending habits and automatically saves a safe amount of money for you into a high- interest-bearing, FDIC-insured bank account.

Qapital is free for 30 days and costs $2.99 a month. But it’s well worth it if you spend frequently and are looking to automate your money-saving habits. You’ll find that over time it pays for itself based on the money you’d otherwise not save plus the interest you gain on that money!

GiftCardGranny

GiftCardGranny is the largest, most trustworthy marketplace for buying gift cards from your favorite stores and brands at a cheap price.

Do you have any gift cards that are collecting dust? Well, you can sell them on GiftCardGranny and earn some money as well.

Plus, they’ll give you $1 just to sign up for an account.

Cashing out is a breeze. They give you an option to cash out same day by going to one of their physical marketplaces, or cashing out online within a few days. Gift card redemption is also easy and instant.

Sign up for GiftCardGranny here.

Shopkick

This awesome app called Shopkick will pay you upon entering stores that they are partnered with. Also, you can make extra money if you decide to shop at these stores. No catches. No bull.

Click here to start getting paid to walk into stores with Shopkick.

When I was financially down and out, the TaskRabbit app was one of my earliest lifesavers.

Once I downloaded the phone app and got confirmed, I was able to make money doing oddjobs (known as tasks) around my local area in days. I even met a few people along the way (one client eventually became a friend of mine).

After you finish a task, it takes a few days for TaskRabbit to charge the client you worked for and send you the cash. But, if you hustle and work several tasks, you can see payments every day.
